As a preferred contractor for the US Army, Imedia.it has produced over a dozen
courses that utilize performance-based learning approaches. Recently Imedia.it
delivered the first SCORM 2004-conformant course produced for the Army,
Intelligence in Combating Terrorism (ICT), which was tested by the Advanced
Distributed Learning (ADL) Co-Lab and earned the certification for Imedia.it as
one of a handful SCORM 2004 Adopters in the content developer category. ICT
uses highly advanced sequencing rules that fully utilize the capabilities of
SCORM 2004. As a result, the ADL invited Imedia.it to become part of its
Technical Working Group.
Since they were way ahead of the curve, Imedia.it had a problem. They had
developed great content, but they didn’t have any place to really test it and
experience it as a learner would in a real LMS. Imedia.it went to a number of
LMS vendors asking to perform a compatibility analysis. A handful of vendors
agreed to cooperate and Imedia.it was able to run its training through a number
of products, including Rustici Software’s SCORM Test Track.
The SCORM Test Track quickly became Imedia.it’s tool of choice. Their content
performed admirably in the Test Track. Being able to quickly test a course,
make a change and test again saved countless hours. Imedia.it appreciated the
Test Track’s clean user interface, and its quick access to a course’s internal
state information greatly simplified the process of correcting undesired
sequencing behaviors.
"We found the SCORM Test Track to be invaluable in our effort to produce and
test SCORM 2004-conformant courseware", says Imedia.it’s Don Holmes. "It not
only handled the sequencing and navigation as expected but provided a clean
intuitive interface to work with."
After thorough testing in the SCORM Test Track, Imedia.it is confident it is
correctly using the SCORM 2004 Simple Sequencing specification. Imedia.it feels
that the SCORM Test Track provides the best interface to showcase its advanced
content and will continue to employ it for customer demonstrations.
