Understanding the Cloud
Likely you already use “the cloud” in some capacity. Whether Google Docs or YouTube or flickr, you have content sitting in the cloud.
SCORM Cloud takes advantage of the cloud to let you deliver courses wherever you need to. Your courses sit in the cloud, just waiting for SCORM Cloud to call them. And because they’re out in the cloud rather than stuck in your LMS, SCORM Cloud can call them out to any service where you want to deliver your training. (But bonus! Your LMS can also use SCORM Cloud to improve its SCORM capability.)
So what do you need to use SCORM Cloud?
To get started, you’ll need to set up an account, which in turn will provide you with an app_id – think of it as your username – and a secret key – think of it as your password. These are tied to the credit card used for your account, so guard them closely!
Once you’ve gotten your app_id and secret key, you can start uploading courses to SCORM Cloud. You select your account type based on the number of registrations you needed; we track those based on when your learners (or users or employees or whatever you want to call them) start taking the courses.
